YOU'RE MY HEART Knit Headband Pattern

As you all know February is the month for LOVE!!  Valentines ads and displays BOMBARD us at every turn.

What many of you may NOT know is that February is also "American Heart Month" and the first Friday of the month (the 7th this year) is "National Wear Red Day" to raise awareness about heart disease.

Just so you know.....I am not an expert or even remotely close to a medical professional.  But I do have family and friends that suffer from one heart condition or another.  So PLEASE take a moment and do some research.  You may be at risk for heart disease and not even know it.  You may have a heart attack or stroke looming in your future and there may be something you can do NOW to be ready for it or maybe even prevent it.

Now is a perfect time to knit up one of these headbands in honor of a loved one or just to show your support and bring awareness to Heart Health!!

Give it a <3 or add it to your Ravelry queue here.

***Feel free to make as many as you want for personal use or for profit...but please remember to give credit to me, Amy B Stitched, and link back to this page***

“YOU’RE MY HEART” KNIT HEADBAND PATTERN

Materials:

  • Size 5 double pointed knitting needles (set of 5)

Rnd 20-22: Knit around to marker.
Rnd 23: Purl around to marker.
LOOSELY Bind off Knitwise.  Finish off by weaving ends in securely.  The finished headband WILL curl up on itself, so washing, blocking and drying flat is recommended.

  3. Jimmy Beans Wool is a big proponent of heart health. It was through them that I first heard about this organization. Thank you for the knit pattern. I'm not much of a knitter but this is something I think I can handle. I think I would try two colors so the heart stands out just a little more.

    1. thanks Sara!! I'll have to check out the JB Wool!! dpn's can be a bit tricky at first if you are not familiar with using them....but other than that it's a super simple pattern. I'd love to see a pic of it if you make with 2 colors!!!
